High Peaks Audubon Society, Inc. (HPAS) is a New York Chapter of the National Audubon Society. Its mission is to conserve and restore natural ecosystems in the Adirondacks, focusing on birds, other wildlife, and their habitats for the benefit of humanity and the Earth's biological diversity.

As one of thirty Audubon chapters in New York, HPAS endeavors to "promote the protection and proper management of birds, other wildlife and their habitats through advocacy and education." Given this charge, HPAS hosts enjoyable and educational bird walks throughout the Adirondack-Champlain region and sponsors a number of remarkable lectures on bird and wildlife conservation issues. Through our essay contest, a deserving young student from the Adirondacks is able to attended Camp Colby. Our newsletter received a second place award in the National Audubon Newsletter Contest for small chapters. Recent conservation efforts have led to the groundwork being laid to establish viewing platforms at Wickham Marsh on Lake Champlain.

If not already a member, consider joining HPAS and help us acheive our conservation and education goals. Please accept our invitaiton to attend a bird walk or lecture event or attend a membership meeting to learn more.
